Located at The Shops at Riverside, The Zen Shop offers all things Eastern for health and well-being. From the writings of Pema Chodron and Thich NhatHanh, to the love poems of Rumi, to crystals, candles, and essential oils—The Zen Shop will take you from OMG to "om....om..."

If you’re looking to give the gift of fitness, but are totally over "boot camp"-style workouts and don’t want to invest in a Peloton-type piece of equipment, a Body Groove on-demand subscription may fit the bill. Body Groove has dance-inspired workouts adaptable to any fitness level, yoga and core-training, as well as positive mindset videos. Workouts are demonstrated by a variety of body types, ages, and abilities. Very inspiring.

For women’s clothing that is affordable and funky, Fox’s is the place to go. While it does not lend itself to ease of ‘fast-fashion’ shopping, the quality is better and with a keen eye, you can find some gems for the woman who dresses with more than a bit of flair.

Recreational Classes at ICE

ICE stands for the Institute of Culinary Education, and their recreational classes are a treat for those who love not only cooking and baking, but wine and cocktails as well. They offer family-friendly baking classes, couples classes, and classes to hone specific kitchen skills. Offerings are somewhat pricey, but they are taught by the same chef-instructors that are training tomorrow’s culinary stars.

Olive-n-Grape

Another of the Shoppes at Smithville, they offer uniquely flavored olive oils andbalsamic vinegars that you won’t find anywhere else. Blood Orange Olive Oil. WhiteCoconut Balsamic. While you can order them online, the most fun part is visiting theirshop. Samples of the flavors are available, so you can try before you buy.

Conrad’s Confectionery

Located in Westwood, this shop offers hand-crafted chocolates. Truffles, dipped pretzels, lollies, gummi’s, and candy canes delight customers of all ages. Be on the lookout for the musical instrument-shaped chocolates!

Brookfield Place / The Oculus

New Jersey is known for its malls, but an NJ Transit and PATH train trip will take you to The Oculus at the World Trade Center. Not only a neat architectural site, it is home to the World Trade Observation deck as well as a host of stores. An escalator ride takes you to Brookfield Place, where both events and eating options abound. A slightly different mall experience. Definitely check out Le District!
